Ematezu and Greetings to People of European Heritage!

Ematezu is the traditional greeting of our people, and it means the Spirit is between us when we meet. It's a way of honoring the spiritual connection we share with each other, and with all living things.

Today, our Land is calling. Our Ancestors are calling. The Spirits of our people are calling. The Animals and Plants are calling. And they are calling us home, back to the culture and lifeway which is ours by heritage.

Will you be a part of this calling? Will you answer the call? Will you begin the process of learning about your Ancestors, and about the sacred place-based knowledge they nurtured over thousands of years?

If so, this website is for you.

We invite you to immerse yourself in this website, take what you learn, and think about it outside with the trees, the birds, and the wind. How does it feel? What emotions does it evoke? What new possibilities does it awaken?

If you have questions, contact us. We will help facilitate understanding, connection, and celebration of your Ancestors and their culture. We believe getting to know your history, your Ancestors, and thier sacred knowledge is an act of healing. Healing yourself and your family is the start of healing the wounds we have created in this world. We believe this alone is powerful incentive to discover your heritage.

Finally, we ask you to consider what we are, and what we are not.

The Iladurarrak IS:
  • The modern rebirth of a traditional Indigenous European tribe with a living history thousands of years old.
  • The result of a powerful ongoing process of traditional reclaimation of language, songs, dances, ceremony and other sacred aspects of our culture.
  • Ultimately a place-based movement asserting our cultural rights and self-determination despite existing political systems.

    The Iladurarrak IS NOT:
  • An attempt to mimic other Indigenous cultures.
  • Role playing of Lord of the Rings, Clan of the Cave Bear, or any other fiction.
  • A New Age spiritual system, Pagan Wicca, or result of a shamanic workshop.
  • A primitavist group who advocates living in huts and wearing animal skins.
